These Terms & Conditions apply to driving lessons, practical test car hire and related services provided by Notting Hill Driving School.
By booking a lesson, requesting a service, using our website, or contacting us through our online forms, you agree to the terms below
1. About Notting Hill Driving School
Notting Hill Driving School provides manual and automatic driving lessons in Notting Hill, West London and surrounding areas.
Automatic lessons are provided using a Toyota Yaris Cross, and manual lessons are provided using a Ford Focus, subject to instructor and vehicle availability.
2. Booking lessons
Lessons may be requested by telephone, email, online booking form, contact form, or any other contact method shown on this website.
Submitting an online form does not automatically confirm a lesson. A booking is only confirmed once we have contacted you and agreed the date, time, pick-up location, lesson type and availability.
We will always try to offer your preferred date and time, but all lessons are subject to instructor availability.
3. Pupil responsibility
You must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category before taking lessons.
You must be legally entitled to drive and must provide your licence details when requested.
You must be fit to drive. You must not attend a lesson under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication that affects driving, or if you are otherwise unfit to drive safely.
If the instructor believes you are not fit or safe to drive, the lesson may be cancelled and the lesson fee may still be charged.
4. Lesson prices and payments
Lesson prices are shown on the Prices page of this website.
Prices may vary depending on lesson type, package, location, instructor availability and any special arrangement agreed in advance.
Payment must be made in the way agreed with your instructor or Notting Hill Driving School.
Block bookings or lesson packages must normally be paid for in advance unless otherwise agreed.
Prices may change from time to time. Any confirmed lesson or package already paid for will be honoured unless a change is agreed with you.
5. Cancellations and rearranging lessons
If you need to cancel or rearrange a lesson, please give as much notice as possible.
We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange a driving lesson.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, or if you do not attend the lesson, the full lesson fee may be charged.
We understand that emergencies can happen, and we will always try to be fair and reasonable.
6. Online and telephone bookings
Where a lesson or service is booked online, by telephone, by email, or by message, any applicable consumer cancellation rights will be respected.
If you request a lesson or service to take place within any statutory cancellation period, you agree that the service may begin before that period ends.
Once a lesson has been provided, payment is due for that lesson.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.
7. Instructor cancellations
Occasionally, a lesson may need to be cancelled or rearranged by the instructor due to illness, vehicle issues, severe weather, traffic disruption, emergencies, or other circumstances outside our control.
If we cancel a lesson, we will offer to rearrange it as soon as reasonably possible. You will not be charged for a lesson cancelled by us.
8. Lateness
Please be ready at the agreed pick-up location at the agreed lesson time.
If you are late, the lesson may still finish at the original scheduled time, and the full lesson fee may still be charged.
If the instructor is delayed due to traffic or circumstances outside their control, they will try to contact you as soon as possible and may extend the lesson or rearrange time where reasonable.
9. Pick-up and lesson location
Lessons usually start from an agreed pick-up location within the areas covered by Notting Hill Driving School.
Pick-up and drop-off arrangements must be agreed in advance.
If the requested pick-up location is outside our normal service area, we may not be able to accept the booking, or additional time may be required.
10. Practical test car hire
Practical test car hire is available by prior arrangement and subject to instructor and vehicle availability.
Practical test car hire is currently £220 for the use of the vehicle during the practical driving test only.
An additional test-day driving lesson is currently £110 and includes approximately 1.5 hours of driving before the test and around 30 minutes to return to the agreed pick-up location after the test.
Where both the practical test car hire and additional test-day lesson are booked together, the total is currently £330.
Prices may be updated from time to time. Please confirm the current price before booking.
11. Practical test readiness
The instructor’s professional judgement will be used to assess whether you are ready to safely use the driving school vehicle for a practical driving test.
We reserve the right to refuse use of the vehicle for a practical test if, in the instructor’s reasonable opinion, you are not test-ready, your driving may be unsafe, you have not had sufficient preparation, or there is a risk to the pupil, instructor, examiner, vehicle or other road users.
12. DVSA driving tests
Pupils are responsible for ensuring their practical driving test is booked correctly with the DVSA and that the test date, time, test centre and personal details are accurate.
You must tell us as soon as your test is booked and provide the relevant test details so that vehicle and instructor availability can be checked.
Notting Hill Driving School is not responsible for DVSA cancellations, test centre changes, examiner availability, weather-related cancellations, or other DVSA decisions.
13. Refunds
Refunds for unused prepaid lessons or packages may be considered on request.
Any refund will take into account lessons already taken, short-notice cancellations, unpaid charges, payment processing costs, and any arrangements already made.
Refunds are not normally given for lessons already provided.
14. Behaviour and safety
We expect pupils to behave respectfully towards instructors and other road users.
Abusive, threatening, unsafe or inappropriate behaviour may result in the lesson being ended immediately. In such circumstances, the lesson fee may still be charged and future lessons may be refused

We try to keep all information on this website accurate and up to date.
However, lesson availability, prices, vehicles, areas covered and services may change from time to time.

16. Liability
We will provide lessons with reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, traffic disruption, vehicle breakdown, illness, DVSA cancellations or other unforeseen events.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
17. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please contact us as soon as possible so we can try to resolve the matter fairly.

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
